Natural skin care
Natural skin care is a fresh alternative to the chemicals of the past.
Freshness is key when selecting herbs to use. When nettles are fresh
they are a bright green color. Oat straw is chartreuse green and not
yellowish. Always use fresh herbs easily obtainable from a good health
food store. Quality stores do not stock too many herbs so as to keep
stocked items fresh and cycled through more often.
Natural skin care is becoming more and more the choice of “green-friendly”
people. The organic movement is expanding. One can certainly buy organic
bananas and tomatoes, but one should be aware that one can now find
natural, organic skin care from facial toners, moisturizers, eye creams,
cleansers, masks, and body creams.
Natural skin care can involve the use of herbs and teas. Drinking tea
helps hydrate the skin and provide vitamins and minerals. Examples are
flack alder, used for eruptions of the skin, and bergamot tea which
is a body system cleanser. Additional herbs are burdock, yellow dock,
dandelion, stevia, horsetail, sarsaparilla, and oat straw.
